Happy New Year from Poole Food Bank!
Once again – A BIG Thank you for all your support last year.
In summary – our stocks were at their lowest during the summer months, but you all responded in an incredible way and we were never at the ’empty shelf’ point.
From harvest through to Christmas our food stocks have been replenished and we are in a good position to continue to support those in need. Thank you!
Our willing volunteers are now working hard at the inevitable ‘stock rotation’ that results from your generous giving and from reaching the end of a calendar year. We now need to re-visit our 2019 food stocks and ensure that we distribute the earliest dates first.
So, my request for the month of January is that we ‘pause’ food contributions (just for this month) please.
Instead we would ask that instead of giving the item of food that you might normally donate, you could donate 50p or £1.00 to support us financially during January.
Or – if you would like to give on a regular basis, I have attached a standing order form.
I know that some of you prefer to give food items – and we have not asked you to turn the tap off completely – so if you prefer to give an item, our current biggest need is for Longlife milk and small jars of coffee.
Thank you for reading this far and for understanding our current position.
I will be in touch again in a couple of weeks to let you now how its going.
I wish you all a blessed and peaceful New Year. I think that we all believe that for some it will be very difficult, but I honestly believe that the people of Poole are the best at supporting each other.
“Thank you” on behalf of those who don’t know who you are but who benefit from your generosity.
