Book Review – God on Mute by Pete Greig

This is a profound book!

It is a journey into unanswered prayer through the lens of the crucifixion. Was Jesus cry from the cross “My God my God why have you forsaken me” an unanswered prayer? Could Jesus have experienced everything man experiences if all his prayers were answered? You need to read the book to find out.

But this is not just a book on theology, it is superbly written, easy to understand and most importantly written out of personal experience.

Pete’s wife Samie had a brain tumour removed, and suffers from Seizures as a result. As a couple leading a global Christian organisation they must live in the reality of seemingly unanswered prayer for her healing. It is a moving and real life account, warts and all, of a couples struggles and victories through prayer. This is a must read.

Pete is a best-selling author, pastor and bewildered instigator of the 24-7 Prayer movement which has reached more than half the nations on earth. He is also the Senior Pastor of Emmaus Rd, Guildford, England, an Ambassador for the NGO Tearfund, and teaches at St Mellitus Theological College in London. For 7 years Pete served with the senior leadership team at HTB and Alpha International.
