The Sermon on The Mount

The Sermon on The Mount arguably is the greatest sermon in the Bible. In Mathew chapter 5 to 7, Jesus was constantly teaching these truths throughout the whole of His three and a half years of ministry. Mathew 7 : 28-29 The people had never heard teaching like this in their lives. No preacher could ever speak with such authority. God was teaching. Jesus is at the centre of The Sermon on The Mount and He never hesitated to go deeper than the Scribes and Pharisees. Thirteen times He uses the words ‘I SAY UNTO YOU’. He always speaks to the heart. ‘Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks’. If we neglect to implement the truths in this sermon we are building our lives on sand.
